Cost Reduction Case Study
Over 80 Years of Experience
Our Client
A well-known pizza chain approached Archer Wire to help design an innovative locker system for its upcoming service launch in 2025. The goal was to create a drop box portal where employees could place freshly prepared pizzas, breadsticks, and more into lockers equipped with oven racks. Customers would then use their mobile phones to unlock the lockers and retrieve their online orders, streamlining the pick-up process.
The Opportunity
The initial design for the locker portal doors was constructed from sheet metal. While functional, it proved costly and presented challenges for cleaning due to its sharp edges, making it less practical for everyday use.
The Solution
We proposed switching to a wire construction, offering a more affordable and easier-to-clean alternative. Archer Wire transformed the original concept, replacing the sheet metal with wire, leading to a more efficient and user-friendly design.
The Results
By eliminating the use of sheet metal in favor of wire, we helped our client achieve a 20% cost savings, while also enhancing the practicality and hygiene of the locker system.
